Incision, excision and closure of blood vessels: Resection of blood vessels with reanastomozation: Hepatic veins
A piece has been removed from one or more of your liver veins.
Veins are blood vessels that transport the blood back to the heart.
The liver is an important organ on the top right of the abdomen. For example, it helps with blood clotting and detoxifying the body. Nutrients from food are processed in the liver.
Sections of blood vessels may be removed, for example, if the blood vessel is enlarged there. The remaining ends are then usually sewn together again.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
