Incision, excision and closure of blood vessels: Resection and replacement (interposition) of (parts of) blood vessels: Common iliac vein
A piece has been removed from a vein in your pelvis.
Veins are blood vessels that transport the blood back to the heart.
Sections of blood vessels may be removed, for example, if the blood vessel is enlarged there. A replacement, either from the person’s own body or an artificial one, can then be implanted into the blood vessel.
