Incision, excision and closure of blood vessels: Suture of blood vessels: Carotid artery, stent
You have had an artery in your head or neck sutured.
Arteries are blood vessels that transport blood away from the heart. They supply all the tissue in the body with oxygen-rich blood.
In the past you had a small tube implanted into the artery in your head or neck. The purpose of this type of synthetic tube is to keep an artery open. You have now had the relevant artery sutured.
A blood vessel sometimes has to be sutured after it has been cut open for treatment.
Additional indicator
