You have had an artery removed from your forearm or hand in order to use it elsewhere in your body.
Arteries are blood vessels that transport blood away from the heart. They supply all the tissue in the body with oxygen-rich blood.
A small incision was made in your skin. To remove the artery, a tube with small instruments at the tip was pushed through the incision.
