Other operations on blood vessels and additional information about operations on blood vessels: Patch plasty for blood vessels: Vascular prosthesis

You have had an artery in your thigh enlarged using other tissue.

Arteries are blood vessels that transport blood away from the heart. They supply all the tissue in the body with oxygen-rich blood.

In the past, you had the blood vessel completely or partially replaced by a synthetic vessel. This is also known as a vascular prosthesis.

A vascular patch can be used to enlarge an artery. This vascular patch can be made of synthetic material or the body’s own tissue.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides

Further information

Note

Your doctor will assist you with any health-related questions and explain the OPS code to you in a direct consultation if necessary.
