Other operations on blood vessels and additional information about operations on blood vessels: Transposition of blood vessels: Pulmonary artery
You have had the course of your pulmonary artery changed surgically.
Arteries are blood vessels that transport blood away from the heart. They supply all the tissue in the body with oxygen-rich blood.
Oxygen-poor blood gets from the heart to the lungs through the pulmonary arteries, where the blood is then enriched with oxygen.
To change the course of an artery, the artery is usually severed and then sewn to an artery elsewhere.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
