Other operations on blood vessels and additional information about operations on blood vessels: Other blood vessel operations: Inspection of venous indwelling catheter systems (e.g. for chemotherapy or pain therapy)

You have undergone surgery again after you had a tube inserted into a vein.

This kind of tube is intended to remain in a vein for a considerable length of time. Veins are blood vessels that transport the blood back to the heart. There are different reasons why a tube is placed in a vein for a considerable length of time. The type of tube also differs. The tube may be located on the neck or collarbone, for example.

The end of the tube may be connected to a chamber under the skin or lead out of the body. The tube can be used to take blood or to inject drugs, for example. This kind of tube can also be used to clean blood with a special device.

Another operation may be necessary after inserting the tube, for example, if the tube is blocked or has a kink in it.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
