You have had markers for radiotherapy implanted into lymph nodes.

The lymph nodes are small bean-shaped objects. They are found throughout the body. Lymph nodes filter the tissue fluid. They are part of the defense system.

You are due to have radiotherapy treatment for certain lymph nodes. For this purpose, those lymph nodes have been marked before the radiotherapy. You had the markers implanted into your body from within. A tube with a camera was used for this purpose. The tube could then be used to push the markers.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
