Operations on spleen and bone marrow: Removal of hematopoietic stem cells from bone marrow and peripheral blood for transplantation and of peripheral blood cells for transfusion: Type of in-vitro preparation for extraction of hematopoietic stem cells: T and/or B cell depletion
Your stem cells have been prepared using a special method.
Stem cells are cells that can develop into different types of cells. For example, blood cells can develop from stem cells. Stem cells are found in the blood and inside some bones. Blood is made up of a liquid part and different blood cells, among other things. The blood cells include the red blood cells, the white blood cells and the platelets. White blood cells are part of the body’s immune system. They fight pathogens.
After stem cells have been extracted, they need to be prepared with special techniques. As a result the recipient’s body better accepts the stem cells. So certain defense cells have been removed from the stem cells extracted from you.
