5-433.23:
Incision, excision and resection of stomach: Local excision and destruction of diseased gastric tissue: Excision, endoscopic: Endoscopic mucosa resection
Pathologically changed tissue has been removed from your stomach.
The stomach is located in the upper abdomen. The stomach has a bag-like shape. It is connected to the gullet (esophagus) at its upper end and to the first part of the small intestine at its lower end. Between the stomach and the small intestine there is a circular sphincter, the pylorus. The inside of the stomach is lined with mucous membrane.
The treatment involved inserting a tube through your mouth and pushing it into your stomach. Images from the examined area can be transmitted to the outside via the tube. It can then be seen whether the tissue is healthy or changed. Small tools such as forceps and scissors can be pushed through at the front of the tube.
Part of the membrane has been removed from your stomach.
