Other operations on the stomach: Other stomach reconstruction: Suture (after injury): Open surgical thoracic

Your stomach has been stitched following an injury. For this purpose you had an operation.

The stomach is located in the upper left abdomen. The stomach stores food and breaks it down further. Harmful pathogens are also killed by gastric acid in the stomach. The stomach thus prepares the food for digestion in the intestines.

The stomach operation involved opening your chest via an incision in your skin. Your stomach was then operated on through your diaphragm. The diaphragm separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity. The stomach lies in the abdomen below the diaphragm.
