5-448.11:

Other operations on the stomach: Other stomach reconstruction: Closure of a gastrostomy or (feeding) fistula: Open surgical thoracic

You had an artificial stomach opening. This artificial stomach opening has been surgically closed.

A feeding tube can be inserted through the artificial gastric opening. Food and drink can be taken through a feeding tube.

To close your artificial stomach opening, your chest was opened by making an incision in your skin. Your stomach could then be treated through your diaphragm. The diaphragm separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity. The stomach lies in the abdomen below the diaphragm.
