Other operations on the stomach: Other stomach reconstruction: Removal of a gastric band: Open surgical thoracic

In the past you had a band put around your stomach. This gastric band has now been surgically removed.

To remove the band around your stomach, your chest was opened by making an incision in your skin. Your stomach was then treated through your diaphragm. The diaphragm separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity. The stomach lies in the abdomen below the diaphragm.
