Other operations on the stomach: Other operations on the stomach: Dilatation: Open surgical
You have had an operation on your stomach.
The stomach is located in the upper left abdomen. The stomach stores food and breaks it down further. Harmful pathogens are also killed by gastric acid in the stomach. The stomach thus prepares the food for digestion in the intestines.
The treatment involved widening a narrow point in your stomach. For example, a balloon may be inflated at the narrow point. Food should be better able to get to the stomach as a result.
The operation involved opening your abdomen via an incision.
