Diseased tissue has been removed from your large intestine (colon).

In the colon, water and salts are taken from the bolus. The stool is then excreted via the rectum.

You have had a laparoscopy involving an operation on your large intestine. A laparoscopy first involves making a small incision in the abdomen. A tube with a camera is pushed through this incision into the abdomen. This camera sends pictures of the inside of the abdomen to a screen. Tools such as forceps and scissors can be inserted through other small incisions in the abdomen.

The tissue in your large intestine has been destroyed using a laser.
