Diseased tissue has been removed from your large intestine (colon).

In the colon, water and salts are taken from the bolus. The stool is then excreted via the rectum. The inside of the large intestine is lined with mucous membrane.

The treatment involved inserting a tube through your rectum and pushing it into your large intestine. A camera is attached to the end of the tube. This camera then sends images to a screen during the examination. It can then be seen whether the tissue is healthy or changed. Small tools such as forceps and scissors can be pushed through at the front of the tube to remove the tissue.

Part of the membrane has been removed from your large intestine.
