Other operations on small and large intestine: Other intestinal reconstruction: Closure of an intestinal fistula, endoscopic: Other
A pathological fistula in your intestine has been closed.
The intestines are made up of the small intestine and the large intestine or colon. Most of the nutrients are absorbed in the small intestine. The large intestine (colon) is where water and salt are withdrawn from the stool. The last segment of the large intestine (colon) is the rectum. Stool then leaves the body through the anus.
You had a pathological fistula between your intestine and another organ or the surface of your body.
For the treatment, a tube was inserted into your intestine. Instruments for the treatment were pushed through this tube. A camera is attached to the end of the tube. This camera sends images to a screen during the treatment.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
