Your large intestine has been surgically lengthened.
The intestines are made up of the small intestine and the large intestine or colon. Most of the nutrients are absorbed in the small intestine. The large intestine (colon) is where water and salt are withdrawn from the stool. The last segment of the large intestine (colon) is the rectum. Stool then leaves the body through the anus. A certain time is required for all the nutrients, water and salts to be absorbed from the intestine. So the intestine’s contents must remain in the intestine for long enough before they are excreted. If the intestine is lengthened, the intestine’s contents remain longer in the intestine.
