Operations on the rectum: Other operation on the rectum: Endoscopic injection

You have had treatment on your rectum.

The last segment of the large intestine consists of 2 sections. These 2 sections are the rectum and anal canal. The feces are collected in the rectum. The feces then move through the short anal canal to the anus. Feces are excreted through the anus.

For your rectum to be treated, a tube was inserted via your anus. A camera is attached to the end of the tube. This camera then sends images to a screen during the examination. It can then be seen whether the tissue is healthy or changed.

Your treatment involved injecting a certain drug into your rectum. The aim of the drug is, for example, to stop bleeds.
