Closure of abdominal hernias: Closure of congenital abdominal wall defects (omphalocele, laparoschisis): Without plastic closure of hernial orifices (primary abdominal wall closure)
You have had an operation because your abdominal wall was not properly developed. The operation closed your abdominal wall.
Your abdominal wall did not develop properly before you were born. So organs had moved outwards from your abdominal cavity.
During the operation the organs were replaced in your abdominal cavity. Then your abdominal wall was stitched closed.
