You have had an operation on the back of your abdomen.
The operation involved opening your back via an incision in your side. This provided access to a specific space behind the abdominal cavity. Between the abdominal cavity and back, there is a space inside the body that contains a lot of connective tissue and fat. The kidneys, pancreas, part of the large intestine and aorta for instance are located in this space. You were checked for a disorder in the back of your abdomen.
