5-549.c1:

Other operations in the abdominal area: Other abdominal operations: Implantation of radiotherapy markers into the abdominal cavity: Endoscopic

Markers for radiotherapy treatment have been inserted into your abdomen.

The abdominal organs are located in the abdomen. The abdomen is lined from within with a membrane. The membrane is made up of individual cells. These cells normally release a small amount of fluid into the abdomen. Thanks to this fluid, the organs can move and slide past each other.

You are going to have radiotherapy treatment on certain parts of your abdomen. For this purpose, some locations have been marked before the radiotherapy. The markers were implanted into you from your stomach or from your intestine. A tube with a camera was inserted into your body for this purpose. The tube could then be used to push the markers.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides

Further information

Note

Your doctor will assist you with any health-related questions and explain the OPS code to you in a direct consultation if necessary.
