Operations on the ureter: Ureterotomy, percutaneous transrenal and transurethral stone treatment: Extraction with Dormia basket

You have had one or more urinary stones removed from your ureter.

The ureter is a thin, muscular tube in the abdomen. There is usually one ureter on each side. The urine flows from the kidney, via the ureter, to the bladder.

One or more urinary stones were removed using a special wire. The special wire can be folded up into a sort of basket. This basket is placed around the urinary stones to pull them out.
