Operations on prostate and seminal vesicles: Transurethral excision and destruction of prostate tissue: Electro-resection
You have had prostate tissue removed via your urethra.
The prostate forms part of the male genital organs. The prostate sits below the bladder and encircles the urethra. The prostate is also known as the prostate gland. Some of the seminal fluid is formed in the prostate.
The surgery involved pushing an instrument into your urethra. The instrument is hollow inside. A small camera or other devices, for example, can be pushed through it into the urethra. You have had prostate tissue removed through your urethra using this method. Your prostate tissue was removed using a wire loop with electricity running through it.
