Operations on other bones: Incision in bone, septic and aseptic: Sequesterotomy: Talus

You have had an operation on your talus.

The foot is made up of a lot of small bones and joints. The lower leg is connected to the tarsus. Then comes the metatarsus and then the individual toes. The anklebone is part of the tarsus. The foot connects to the lower leg via the talus. This connection is known as the upper ankle joint.

This intervention involved making one or more incisions in your skin.

A piece of bone that had died off was then removed from your talus.

Damaged tissue or dirt can also be removed during this type of intervention.
