5-780.81:
Operations on other bones: Incision in bone, septic and aseptic: Sequesterotomy with insertion of a drug delivery system: Proximal humerus
You had an operation on the upper part of your humerus.
There are different parts to the humerus. The top end is connected to the shoulder blade in the shoulder joint. In the middle of the humerus there is a long, straight section. The lower end is connected to the forearm in the elbow joint.
This intervention involved making one or more incisions in your skin.
A piece of bone that had died off was then removed from your humerus.
A drug delivery device was also inserted into your humerus. A drug delivery system is a particular material that contains medication. The drug delivery system usually releases the medication to the surrounding tissue over a long period of time.
Damaged tissue or dirt can also be removed during this type of intervention.
