The hand is made up of a lot of small bones and joints. The hand can be divided into 3 sections. The wrist (carpus) is directly connected to the forearm. Then comes the metacarpus and then the individual fingers. The thumb consists of 2 finger bones. The other fingers consist of 3 finger bones.
There are various soft tissues around the phalanges of your hand. Soft tissue includes muscles, fatty tissue and connective tissue, for example. In addition to the altered bone tissue, you also had soft tissue from the area surrounding the phalanges of your hand removed.
