The foot is made up of a lot of small bones and joints. The lower leg is connected to the tarsus. Then comes the metatarsus and then the individual toes. The tarsus consists of 7 tarsal bones. The tarsal bones form the rear part of the foot.

There is a range of soft tissue in the tarsus. Soft tissue includes muscles, fatty tissue and connective tissue, for example.
