OPS-Code 5-782.3q:

Operations on other bones: Excision and resection of diseased bone tissue: Partial resection with continuity severance and with soft tissue resection: Shaft of fibula

Altered bone tissue was removed from the middle section of your calf bone (fibula).

There are 2 bones in the lower leg, the tibia and the fibula. The tibia is on the inside of the leg. The fibula is on the outside of the leg. Both bones in the lower leg have an upper, middle and lower section. The tibia and fibula both have a long, straight section in the middle.

There are various soft tissues around the calf bone (fibula). Soft tissue includes muscles, fatty tissue and connective tissue, for example. In addition to the altered bone tissue, you also had soft tissue from the area surrounding the calf bone (fibula) removed. The operation involved cutting right through the calf bone (fibula).
