OPS-Code 5-782.7m:
Operations on other bones: Excision and resection of diseased bone tissue: Total resection of a bone with soft tissue resection: Shaft of tibia
In order to remove altered bone tissue, the middle section of your shinbone (tibia) was removed.
There are 2 bones in the lower leg, the tibia and the fibula. The tibia is on the inside of the leg. The fibula is on the outside of the leg. Both bones in the lower leg have an upper, middle and lower section. The tibia and fibula both have a long, straight section in the middle.
There are various soft tissues around the shinbone (tibia). Soft tissue includes muscles, fatty tissue and connective tissue, for example. In addition to the altered bone tissue, you also had soft tissue from the area surrounding the shinbone (tibia) removed.
