Operations on other bones: Excision and resection of diseased bone tissue: Partial resection, endoscopic: Clavicle

You have had changed bone tissue removed from your collarbone.

The collarbone is a bone at the front of the ribcage. It runs from the ribcage to the shoulder and joins the shoulder blade at the shoulder.

The collarbones are also connected to the sternum by joints. Further joints connect each of the collarbones with the shoulder blades. The changed bone tissue was removed during an arthroscopy. An arthroscopy first involves making a small incision in the skin. A thin tube is advanced through this incision. There is a camera at the top of the tube. The camera transmits images of the inside of the joint to a screen. Instruments such as forceps and scissors can be inserted into the joint through other small incisions.
