OPS-Code 5-782.b1:

Operations on other bones: Excision and resection of diseased bone tissue: Partial resection, endoscopic: Proximal humerus

You have had altered bone tissue removed from the upper end of your humerus.

There are different parts to the humerus. The top end is connected to the shoulder blade in the shoulder joint. In the middle of the humerus there is a long, straight section. The lower end is connected to the forearm in the elbow joint.

The changed bone tissue was removed during an arthroscopy. An arthroscopy first involves making a small incision in the skin. A thin tube is advanced through this incision. There is a camera at the top of the tube. The camera transmits images of the inside of the joint to a screen. Instruments such as forceps and scissors can be inserted into the joint through other small incisions.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
