OPS-Code 5-782.bh:
Operations on other bones: Excision and resection of diseased bone tissue: Partial resection, endoscopic: Distal femur
You have had altered bone tissue removed from the lower section of your thighbone (femur).
The femur has an upper, middle and lower section. The lower section of the femur is connected to the lower leg bones by the knee joint.
The changed bone tissue was removed during an arthroscopy. An arthroscopy first involves making a small incision in the skin. A thin tube is advanced through this incision. There is a camera at the top of the tube. The camera transmits images of the inside of the joint to a screen. Instruments such as forceps and scissors can be inserted into the joint through other small incisions.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
