OPS-Code 5-783.50:

Operations on other bones: Extraction of a bone graft: Bone graft, microvascular anastomized: Clavicle

You have had bone material surgically removed from your collarbone so that it can be used somewhere else.

The collarbone (clavicle) is a bone at the front of the ribcage. It runs from the ribcage to the shoulder and joins the shoulder blade at the shoulder.

Blood vessels supply the collarbone with oxygen and nutrients, among other things. Blood vessels were removed together with bone material in your case. If the bone material is used at another site in your body, the blood vessels can be connected back to other blood vessels at that site. This should help the bone material to fuse with other bone material at the new site.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
