OPS-Code 5-783.58:

Operations on other bones: Extraction of a bone graft: Bone graft, microvascular anastomized: Shaft of ulna

You have had bone material surgically removed from your ulna so that it can be used somewhere else.

There are 2 bones in the forearm, the ulna and the radius. The ulna is on the side where your little finger is. The radius is on the side where your thumb is. Both bones in the forearm have an upper, middle and lower section. The ulna and the radius both have a long, straight section in the middle.

Bone material has been removed from the middle section of your ulna.

Blood vessels supply the ulna with oxygen and nutrients, among other things. Blood vessels were removed together with bone material in your case. If the bone material is used at another site in your body, the blood vessels can be connected back to other blood vessels at that site. This should help the bone material to fuse with other bone material at the new site.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
