OPS-Code 5-783.5d:
Operations on other bones: Extraction of a bone graft: Bone graft, microvascular anastomized: Pelvic
You have had bone material surgically removed from your pelvic bone so that it can be used somewhere else.
The pelvis is made up of different bones. There are 3 bones on each side which each merge to form one large pelvic bone. A joint connects these two large pelvic bones to the sacrum at the back of the body. The sacrum is part of the lower spine. The two pelvic bones plus the sacrum form a bony pelvic ring or girdle. At the front, the two pelvic bones are firmly connected to each other by ligaments and cartilage fibers.
Blood vessels supply the pelvic bone with oxygen and nutrients, among other things. Blood vessels were removed together with bone material in your case. If the bone material is used at another site in your body, the blood vessels can be connected back to other blood vessels at that site. This should help the bone material to fuse with other bone material at the new site.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
