OPS-Code 5-783.5t:
Operations on other bones: Extraction of a bone graft: Bone graft, microvascular anastomized: Calcaneus
You have had bone material surgically removed from your tarsal bones so that it can be used somewhere else.
The foot is made up of a lot of small bones and joints. The lower leg is connected to the tarsus. Then comes the metatarsus and then the individual toes. The tarsus consists of 7 tarsal bones. The tarsal bones form the rear part of the foot.
Bone material was removed from your heel bone. The heel bone is part of the tarsus. It is located at the back of the foot. You can feel your calcaneus in your heel.
Blood vessels supply the tarsal bones with oxygen and nutrients, among other things. Blood vessels were removed together with bone material in your case. If the bone material is used at another site in your body, the blood vessels can be connected back to other blood vessels at that site. This should help the bone material to fuse with other bone material at the new site.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
