OPS-Code 5-783.6h:

Operations on other bones: Extraction of a bone graft: Cartilage-bone graft: Distal femur

You have had bone material with cartilage surgically removed from your femur so that it can be used somewhere else.

The femur has an upper, middle and lower section. The lower section of the femur is connected to the lower leg bones by the knee joint. The bones in a joint are covered with cartilage. When the joint is moved, the cartilage prevents the bones from rubbing against one another. The cartilage is normally strong and elastic, with a smooth surface.

Bone material with cartilage has been removed from the lower section of your femur.
