Operations on other bones: Extraction of a bone graft: Bone graft, vascular pedicled, non microvascular anastomized: Distal humerus
You have had bone material surgically removed from your humerus so that it can be used somewhere else.
There are different parts to the humerus. The top end is connected to the shoulder blade in the shoulder joint. In the middle of the humerus there is a long, straight section. The lower end is connected to the forearm in the elbow joint. Bone material has been removed from the lower end of the humerus.
Blood vessels supply the humerus with oxygen and nutrients, among other things. A special technique was used to remove the bone material. The bone material remains connected with the original site by means of a blood vessel. The blood vessel was not severed. As a result, the bone material can continue to be supplied with blood. This should help the bone material to fuse with other bone material at the new site.
