Ihnen wurde in einer Operation Knochen-Material an den Mittelhand-Knochen eingesetzt.

Die Hand besteht aus vielen kleinen Knochen und Gelenken. An der Hand kann man 3 Abschnitte unterscheiden. Die Handwurzel grenzt direkt an den Unterarm. Danach folgen die Mittelhand und anschließend die einzelnen Finger. Die Mittelhand bildet den Handteller beziehungsweise den Handrücken. Sie besteht aus den länglichen Mittelhand-Knochen. Zu jedem Finger gehört ein Mittelhand-Knochen.

Das Knochen-Material wurde im Labor mit einem speziellen Verfahren bearbeitet, bevor es an den Mittelhand-Knochen eingesetzt wurde.
