You have had bones or parts of bones stabilized using one or more pins.
To stabilize bones or parts of bones, various aids can be used. They can be made of metal or plastic, for example.
You have had one or more pins inserted into a bone. The purpose of pins like these is to stabilize the bone from inside. To achieve this, they are inserted into the space inside the bone. At their ends, the pins can be screwed to the bone.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
