To stabilize bones or parts of bones, various aids can be used. They can be made of metal or plastic, for example.

You have had one or more wires inserted into a bone. The purpose of wires like these is to stabilize the bone from inside. To achieve this, they are inserted into the space inside the bone.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

L: Left
R: Right
B: Both sides
