5-787.c3:

Operations on other bones: Removal of osteosynthesis material: Transfixation nail: Distal humerus

Aids have been removed from your humerus.

To stabilize bones or parts of bones, various aids can be used. They can be made of metal or plastic, for example.

There are different parts to the humerus. The top end is connected to the shoulder blade in the shoulder joint. In the middle of the humerus there is a long, straight section. The lower end is connected to the forearm in the elbow joint.

Long pins have been removed from the lower part of your humerus. Long pins like these are used to stabilize the humerus from within. The long nails are inserted through bones and join these bones together. Joints, for example, can be temporarily reinforced like this.
