Operations on other bones: Removal of osteosynthesis material: Transfixation nail: Distal femur

Aids have been removed from your femur.

The femur has an upper, middle and lower section. The lower section of the femur is connected to the lower leg bones by the knee joint.

To stabilize bones or parts of bones, various aids can be used. They can be made of metal or plastic, for example.

Long pins have been removed from the lower section of your femur. Long pins like these are used to stabilize the femoral neck from within. The long nails are inserted through bones and join these bones together. Joints, for example, can be temporarily reinforced like this.
