Operations on other bones: Removal of osteosynthesis material: Intramedullary wire: Metacarpals
Aids have been removed from your metacarpal bones.
The hand is made up of a lot of small bones and joints. Immediately after the forearm is the carpus. Then comes the metacarpus and then the individual fingers. The metacarpus forms the palm of the hand and the back of the hand. It consists of the longish metacarpal bones. There is one metacarpal bone for each finger.
To stabilize bones or parts of bones, various aids can be used. They can be made of metal or plastic, for example.
Pins or wires have been removed from your metacarpal bones. Pins or wires like these are used to stabilize the bone from within.
