Operations on other bones: Inspection of osteosynthesis material with reosteosynthesis: By intramedullary nail with joint component: Shaft of radius
Your radius has been re-stabilized using aids.
There are 2 bones in the forearm, the ulna and the radius. The ulna is on the side where your little finger is. The radius is on the side where your thumb is. Both bones in the forearm have an upper, middle and lower section. The ulna and the radius both have a long, straight section in the middle.
The mid-section of your radius has been stabilized with a long pin inside the bone.
The purpose of the long pin is to stabilize the radius from inside. To do this, the pin is inserted into the bone. The long pin is also attached to a big screw. This screw stabilizes other parts of the bone. The long pin may also be screwed to the bone at its ends.
