Your femur has been re-stabilized using aids.
The femur has an upper, middle and lower section. The upper section of the femur is connected to the pelvic bones by the hip joint. The upper section includes the neck and head of the femur plus 2 bony protrusions. The bony protrusions lie between the neck of the femur and its central section. The neck of the femur is set at an angle to the central section.
The upper section of your femur has been stabilized with a long pin inside the bone.
The purpose of the long pin is to stabilize the femur from within. To do this, the pin is inserted into the bone. The long pin is also attached to a big screw. This screw stabilizes other parts of the bone. The long pin may also be screwed to the bone at its ends.
