Operations on other bones: Inspection of osteosynthesis material with reosteosynthesis: By intramedullary nail with joint component: Shaft of fibula

Your fibula has been re-stabilized using aids.

There are 2 bones in the lower leg, the tibia and the fibula. The tibia is on the inside of the leg. The fibula is on the outside of the leg. Both bones in the lower leg have an upper, middle and lower section.

The mid-section of your fibula has been stabilized with a long pin inside the bone.

The purpose of the long pin is to stabilize the fibula from within. To do this, the pin is inserted into the bone. The long pin is also attached to a big screw. This screw stabilizes other parts of the bone. The long pin may also be screwed to the bone at its ends.
