Operations on other bones: Inspection of osteosynthesis material with reosteosynthesis: By inter-locking nail: Proximal radius
Your radius has been re-stabilized using aids.
There are 2 bones in the forearm, the ulna and the radius. The ulna is on the side where your little finger is. The radius is on the side where your thumb is. Both bones in the forearm have an upper, middle and lower section. The top ends of ulna and radius, along with the humerus, form the elbow joint.
The upper section of your radius has been stabilized with a long pin inside the bone.
The purpose of the long pin is to stabilize the radius from inside. To do this, the pin is inserted into the bone. The long pin may also be screwed to the bone at its ends.
