Operations on other bones: Inspection of osteosynthesis material with reosteosynthesis: By external fixator: Proximal humerus
Your humerus has been re-stabilized using aids.
There are different parts to the humerus. The top end is connected to the shoulder blade in the shoulder joint. In the middle of the humerus there is a long, straight section. The lower end is connected to the forearm in the elbow joint.
The bone fragments from the upper section of your humerus have been joined and stabilized using a special fixation system. The special fixation system involves inserting metal pins or screws through the skin from outside and into the humerus. These are then joined to one another outside the body using a holding system.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
